Steven L. Marino Obituary
Steven Marino, devoted husband and loving father, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the age of 78, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Virginia Marino, with whom he shared nearly 51 years of marriage.
Steven worked for Garelick Farms as a truck driver for over 35 years, a job he loved, and most recently enjoyed his time working within the community at Ace Hardware. Known for his unwavering kindness and generosity, his greatest joy came from the time spent with family and friends. He had a special talent for bringing people together, often found in the kitchen making his famous pizza and fried dough—delights that became cherished family traditions.
Over the years, Steven and Virginia enjoyed many vacations with their good friends, Paula and Andy Bertolino, sharing lots of laughs and fun times. In his most recent years, Steven loved visiting and bringing his family together in Texas, where he created lasting memories and shared his love for life. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; his son, Steven Marino, and wife Jennifer, along with their sons, Ethan and Owen; his son, David Marino, and wife Dina, who have three children, David, Olivia, and Ava; and his daughter, Michelle Kewley, and husband Daniel, who are parents to Grant, Isabella, and Jack. He took immense pride in his children and grandchildren, who were the highlight of his life. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Maria Favazza, brother-in-law David San Paolo, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and close friends.
Steven was predeceased by his parents, Louie and Mary Marino; parents-in-law, Mariano and Josephine San Paolo; his brother-in-law John Favazza; and his sister-in-law Denise San Paolo.
His warmth, humor, and boundless love will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Gloucester immediately following the service. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
