Rose Chianciola Obituary
Rose (Lovell) Chianciola, 91, of Gloucester wife of the late Benjamin A. Chianciola passed away peacefully on Sunday morning at the Beverly Hospital.
She was born in Boston, MA on January 24, 1931, daughter of the late Lyman R. and Ivy Jane (Rose) Lovell.
Rose was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1949. She later proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
She worked at Beeman School in the cafeteria, the Building Center as their bookkeeper and lastly at Goldman's for over 20 years as a salesclerk, where she loved meeting new people and a good conversation.
Rose loved her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crossword puzzles and especially her bus trips to the casino. She just loved keeping busy. Rose always enjoyed a good cup of coffee with her friends at Central Grammar Apartments. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rose is survived by her son, Walter Chianciola and his wife Sharon of Gloucester; 3 daughters, Sally D'Antonio and her husband Benedict of Beverly, Marie Telles and her husband David of Gloucester and Julie Chianciola of Beverly; 7 grandchildren, Michael D'Antonio and his wife Alicia of Kingston, NH, Melissa Lassen and her husband Wesley, Eric Telles all of Beverly, Kristin Parady and her husband Joseph, Abbie Bertolino and her husband Nate, Lauren Chianciola and her girlfriend Cheryl Vieira, Kiley DeSantis and her husband Michael all of Gloucester; 8 great-grandchildren, Maddie and Henry D'Antonio, Natalie and Wesley Lassen, Raegan and Joseph Parady Jr., Nico Bertolino, Julian DeSantis and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brother, Lyman R. Lovell Jr. and her sister, Sarah McComiskey Ramsey, and her husband Vern.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. All attendees are required to wear face coverings during Mass. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
