Rosaria Aloi Obituary
Rose Aloi (Maggio), of Gloucester, MA, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Addison Gilbert Hospital, Gloucester, MA. Rose was born in Sicily and was the second child of the late Gaetano and Anna Maggio (Caravello).
She emigrated to the US with her husband Frank and set up home in Gloucester, MA in 1963. Prior to moving to the US, Rose attended college in Sicily and trained as a dressmaker. Rose was an incredibly talented and well-known local seamstress. She loved making and altering clothes, so they were perfect for her customers. Rose loved gardening, cooking, keeping home and talking to her many friends who passed by her home on Washington St.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Aloi, and her brother, Giovanni Maggio.
Rose will be lovingly remembered by her sister Carmela, her sister- in- law Carmela Torri, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grandnieces great grandnephews, godson, and friends.
Rose's visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Tuesday, August 13, from 5-7p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church (Holy Family Parish), 60 Prospect St., Gloucester, MA., 01930 at 9.00a.m. on Wednesday August 14, 2024. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
