Priscilla T. Cunningham Obituary
Priscilla T. (Rioux) Cunningham, 90, of Gloucester, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the Addison Gilbert Hospital with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Cunningham.
Born in Gloucester, daughter of the late Gerard X. and Amelia J. (Flores) Rioux Sr. Priscilla was a graduate of Gloucester High School class of 1950.
Priscilla worked for many years at the former Gus Chekares Insurance Company now John J. Walsh Insurance Company. She also enjoyed traveling to St. Maarten with her friends Ron, Pat and Russ. She was a social butterfly who enjoyed making new friends where ever she went, especially Seacoast Nursing Home where she was the president of the residents.
Priscilla is survived by her stepchildren; Roni Michele Joseph, Patti Joseph and her wife Mary Lawlor, Lori Jean Thorstensen and her husband Lee all of Gloucester; Philip Joseph and his wife Annie and Gary Joseph all of Gloucester; nephew Gerald X. Rioux III and his wife Kathy, nieces; Rene Rioux Wimer and her husband Daniel, Karen Rioux Falker and her husband John and Sharron Rioux, 8 great and 12 great great nieces and nephews. A special grandson Connor Romaine and sister-in-law Joyce.
Priscilla was predeceased by her husband, Robert, and her very close companion of 33 years Ronald M. Joseph, 2 brothers, Gerald X. Rioux Jr. and his wife Maria and Edward Rioux, and a niece Donna Cahoon.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann's Church, (Holy Family Parish) 60 Prospect Street, Gloucester, Wednesday, January 4, at 11a.m. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Friends of Seacoast Nursing Home, 292 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA 01930.
