Philip A. Balzarini Obituary

Philip A. Balzarini, 74, passed away at his home on Friday, June 10, 2022. Phil was born in Gloucester, MA on May 31, 1948, and was the son of the late Mario and Phyllis (Down) Balzarini.

Phil, also known as "Uncle Phil," was a graduate of Rockport High School with the Class of 1966. After graduation, he proudly chose to join the family business "Mario and Son.". During the summer, he loved playing on his softball team "Balzarini's Trash.". As many know, he was a great left fielder and batting third. He was described as "one of the most dangerous hitters in the league.". He helped lead his team to several championships. Phil also had a passion for golfing and bowling and throughout the years, he took many golf trips and spent many nights at "Cape Ann Lanes". Phil spent many fun filled nights at the Elks club, as he was a lifelong member. Aside from work, Phil was a family man. After having one son of his own, down the line, he adopted five kids as well as fostering and welcoming many children into his home. As his children chose different career paths, Phil was always supportive, no matter what route they took. He would always show his support by wearing army, police, or college attire to proudly represent his children's accomplishments. No matter how far or what time it was, he would always make sure of cheering on his kids from the sidelines of their sporting events.

He is survived by his sons, Douglas, his wife Nicole and their son Maxwell Balzarini of Rockport, Jason, his wife Jillian and their daughter Liliana Balzarini of Rockport, Adam Balzarini of Gloucester, Derek Balzarini of Rockport, Ryan Balzarini of Rockport, and daughters, Cassandra Balzarini of Florida, and Sedra Balzarini of Kentucky.

He is survived by his siblings, Kenneth and Kay Bannon, Diane and her late husband Douglas Bannon Lynn and Natalie Balzarini Churchill.

He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Balzarini Goldman, as well as many aunts and uncles.

His visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester, MA on Wednesday, June 15 from 4-7 p.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. His service and burial will be held privately.
