Paul F. Talbot Obituary
Paul F. Talbot, 89, of Gloucester, MA, beloved husband of Anne (Rousseau), entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 20, 2023, at the Seacoast Rehab in Gloucester. He was born in Brunswick, Maine on September 8, 1933, to the late Lorenzo and France (Viney) Talbot.
Paul graduated from Brunswick High School in 1951, he then enlisted in the Army and served in the 82nd Airborne. He graduated from the University of Maine Orono and earned an Academic Scholarship to attend The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he received his Masters Degree in Public Administration.
He married Dorothy (Maybury) in 1957 and were married for 35 years until her death in 1992. Together they raised three children in their Magnolia home.
Paul was the former City Manager of Gloucester, MA from 1968 – 1976. When Gloucester changed its form of government in 1976, Paul moved his family to South Windsor, CT for a new position he took as Town Administrator. Paul and Dottie's love of Gloucester had them rent out there home in Magnolia, knowing someday they'd return. In 1979 that dream became a reality when Paul accepted the Billerica Ma Town Administrators position. After retiring from Billerica in 1991, he cared for his first wife Dorothy until her death in 1992.
Paul then went and worked at Manchester Athletic Club, where he met his future wife Anne. In 1997 he un-retired and took the position of Administrator for the Cape Ann Transit Authority. He truly enjoyed his role there and retired for good in 2018 at the young age of 85.
Paul is survived by his wife Anne (Rousseau), his daughter Kathleen Baron and husband Jim, son Bob and his children Alex and Matthew, daughter Paula Rogers, her husband Alfred and her children Andrew Fulford and wife Brittany (Barry), Ryan Fulford and girlfriend Christina Padovano and Kristen (Fulford) Beauparlant and husband Andrew. He is also survived by his precious great grandson Remy Scott Fulford who he adored, his brother Rodney Talbot, sister Micheline Morgan of Maine, numerous nieces and nephews, Anne's Children Jeffrey Letendre and wife Annie (Reynolds) their children Maura and Shannon and finally Jennifer (Letendre) Kulicki and husband Dr. Leonard Kulicki and their children Alexander and Ella.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Paul was predeceased by his brother Ronald Talbot of Maine.
Visiting hours for Paul will be held on Tuesday, January 24, from 4 to 7 pm at Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester. His funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Wednesday, January 25, at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect Street, Gloucester. There will be a private burial service on a later date.
