Mary L. Billante Obituary

Mary L. (Kandris) Billante, 81, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully at her son's residence on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

She was born in Gloucester, MA on February 28, 1941, daughter of the late Demetrios and Virginia (Capaldo) Kandris.

Mary was a self-made entrepreneur having been in the beauty business for over 30 years, the Grecian Beauty Salon and having such a loyal clientele. She also worked for Hallmark Card Company.

She was a girly girl, always looking her very best. She loved sewing and Greek dancing. Mary was a big Elvis fan, who enjoyed her trip to Graceland in Memphis, TN. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her loving son, Leonard "Lenny" Billante and her sister, Virginia Kandris.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard F. "Leo" Billante and her sister, Theresa Paticchio.

Her. Funeral Service will be held in the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. The burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There will be no visiting hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 8 Lafayette Road, Ipswich, MA 01938.
