Margherita Peritore Obituary
Margherita Peritore, age 93, of Gloucester, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. She was the wife of the late Mario Peritore.
Born in Tripoli, Libya, Margherita immigrated to the United States with her family in August 1959. She worked at Mighty Mac with her husband for over twenty years. Margherita loved traveling and visited places like Argentina, Chile, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Italy. She also enjoyed knitting sweaters for her great-grandchildren. She had a very outgoing personality and loved being around people. Margherita was very devoted to her catholic religion and faithful to St. Ann's/Holy Family Parish. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was the highlight of her days.
Margherita is survived by her son, Gaetano Peritore and his wife, Heather; her daughter, Maria LoCoco and her husband Gioacchino; grandchildren, Francesco LoCoco, Mario LoCoco husband of Amanda LoCoco, Nicholas LoCoco and his wife Andrea, Rachel Peritore and her husband Anthony Guzman, Mario Peritore and his wife Kayla, Christopher Peritore and his wife Ivana; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Franca Lavasseur; and sister in-law, Luciana Ferrante.
In addition to her husband Mario, Margherita was predeceased by her brothers, Domenico and Michele Ferrante; sister, Giroloma Onorio; sister in-law, Alberta Ferrante; and brothers-in-law, Gaetano Onorio, John Mercurio, and Robert Lavasseur.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
