Margaret T. McKay Obituary
Margaret T. (Libro) McKay, 79, of Gloucester, wife of the late Carleton Bruce McKay, passed away at her home with her loving family at her side on September 1, 2022. Margaret was born on January 6, 1943, in Gloucester, MA and was the daughter of the late Dominic and Margaret (Landrie) Libro.
Margaret graduated from Gloucester High School with the Class of 1961. She continued her education at Salem State College.
She loved partaking in the local Senior Center activities, getting together with her many knitting friends, playing bingo and the countless hours spent devoted to her volunteer work at Addison Gilbert Hospital in both the gift shop and wards.
She is survived by her children Margaret Henry and her fiancé Tony Carter of NC, Carleton "Chip" B. McKay-Stratton and his husband Carl Stratton of Gloucester and Amanda Jobe and her husband Robert "Jobie" Jobe of FL, Grandchildren Brenden Henry and his fiancé Alayna Steele, Alex Henry, Rachelle, Tatum, Bodin and Cooper Jobe, brother Dominic Libro, in-laws Robert and Ellen McKay, Barry and Diane McKay, Debbie and Kevin Haines, Joanne Libro, cousin Vincent Libro, aunt Betty Hilshey, her many nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved dog "TJ". She was predeceased by her husband, Bruce McKay, her granddaughter Tearney Heineck and her brother Vincent Libro.
Her visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester on Tuesday Sept. 6th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. Her mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect St. on Sept. 7th at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
