Marcia Faye Peterson Obituary
Marcia Faye (Parks) Peterson, wife of the late Lawrence N. Peterson, Jr., passed away on April 4, 2023, at the age of 85, with her children by her side. She was born on July 3, 1937, to the late Russell W. Parks, Sr. and Catherine Ellen (Ryan) Parks in Gloucester, Massachusetts and graduated from Gloucester High School in 1955. Faye and Larry married in February of 1959 and enjoyed 37 loving years together. They raised their three children in Gloucester while working together for many years in the family plumbing and heating business.
Faye loved traveling and would never refuse an invitation to accompany a friend or companion on a trip abroad or nearby. She considered herself a wanderlust and especially enjoyed trips to Bermuda, Ireland, Italy, and Nova Scotia. An avid quilter and knitter, Faye would always have a quilt or baby sweater ready to gift to her own and friends' children and grandchildren. Her genealogy research provided many a discussion of family ancestry along with stories we will cherish and carry with us.
Family and friends were the dearest part of Faye's life and she always made time to listen and offer comfort and care to all she loved. She will be missed and remembered by those who knew her with love, affection and devotion. Faye was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence N. Peterson, Jr.; her daughter, Amy J. Silva; her brother, Russell W. Parks, Jr.; and her parents, Russell W. and C. Ellen Parks. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Ann Kardenetz and husband, Martin of Ipswich; her son, Lawrence N. Peterson, III and his fiance, Francine White of Gloucester; her son-in-law, Stephen M. Silva of Rockport; grandchildren: Alyssa Bosch (Chris) of North Carolina, Amanda Frithsen (Mike Pereen) of Ipswich, Jessica Arraneo (Chad) of Rowley, Jeffrey Frithsen (Jodi) of Hamilton, and Patrick Frithsen (Zoe Muller) of Gloucester; great grandchildren: Joshua Hale (Selena Webster), Aiden Tucker, Autumn Tucker, Mackenzie Bosch, Grace Warren, Wren Arraneo, Willow Arraneo, and Wilder Frithsen; great, great granddaughter Joleena Hale, and many very dear friends.
Visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester, on Wednesday, April 12 from 5-7 p.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. Her burial will be held privately.
