Lillian Sanfilippo Obituary
Lillian (Piazza) Sanfilippo wife to Antonino Sanfilippo passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving, family.
She was born Calogera Piazza on October 27th, 1948, in Sciacca, Italy to Salvatore and Maria (Cirafisi) Piazza. She immigrated to America in 1966, with her husband where she is known to many as Lillian Sanfilippo.
Lillian was well known as a great seamstress and homemaker, creating wonderful clothing for family and friends as well as her involvement with the Gloucester Fishermen's Wives Association, Madonna del Rosario and many selfless acts of kindness.
Adored by her family, she loved bringing them all together especially for Sunday dinners.
She is survived by her husband, Antonino and four children, Rosemarie La Rocca and husband Calogero, Accursio (Gus) Sanfilippo and wife Lorie, Maryjane Carollo and husband John, Lilly Joyce Gagliardi and husband Anthony; her nine grandchildren, Giuseppe La Rocca and wife Dr. Britt Gottlich, Anthony La Rocca and wife Olivia, Dr. Lily Jean Sanfilippo, Bianca La Rocca, Anthony Sanfilippo, Lola Carollo, Tristan Gagliardi, Lexi Carollo and Jesse Gagliardi; three great-grandchildren, Noa, Lia and Renzo La Rocca; her two siblings, Mario Piazza and wife Caterina, Giuseppina Maniscalco and husband Silvestro; sister-in-law, Filippina Sanfilippo; brother-in-law, Charlie Sanfilippo and wife Caterina; many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Her visiting hours will be held in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Alzheimer's Association of Eastern Massachusetts, 320 Nevada Street, Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460 and Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
