Lidia L. Roberto Obituary
Lidia L. Roberto, 91, wife of the late Manual N. Roberto of 29 Taylor St. Gloucester, passed away January 5th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle of Alzheimer's.
She was born in Pico, Azores on July 15th, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Luis Ferreira and Maria Rosario Machado.
Lidia Roberto came to Gloucester in May of 1978 and was employed as a fish packer at Gorton's for 16 years before retiring in 1994. She was a member of the D.E.S Club. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Lidia is survived by her children, son, Manual A. Nunes, and his wife Alexandria of Gloucester; 6 daughters, Maria F. Dias and her husband Jose of Gloucester, Maria A. Nunes and her husband Antonio of Florida, Maria C. Negrete and her husband Tony of California, Maria M. Silva and her husband Fernando of Gloucester, Lucia L. Brown and her husband Ralph of Rockport, Maria C. Figueiredo and her late husband David of Gloucester. She leaves behind, 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Lidia will be remembered for her strong will, and her devotion to her family.
Lidia is predeceased by her sister, Julia Dutra and brother, Francisco Dutra.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 8:30 -10:30 a.m. follow by a Mass celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association of Eastern Massachusetts, 308 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
