Kimberly A. Wilkie Obituary
Kimberly A. Wilkie, 59, resident of BrightView in Danvers, MA, formerly of Stow, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon, August 11, 2022, after enjoying are wonderful afternoon at her family's summer home in Annisquam/Gloucester, MA.
Kim was born in Brighton, MA on March 13, 1963, daughter of Leslie F. Asare (Parker) of Rockport, and Thomas W. Wilkie and his companion Joan O'Connor of Gloucester.
Kim was a graduate of Nashoba Regional High School, Class of 1981, and later received her bachelor's degree in 1986 from Eckerd College in Florida.
Kim worked for Tufts Health Care in Boston as an Administrative Coordinator for many years. She so enjoyed her job and loved all her co-workers. Kim was a loyal Patriots and Bruins fan. She loved living in her apartment at BrightView in Danvers – looking forward to her end-of-day visit to "the pub" there…enjoying a glass of wine and schmoozing with staff and residents alike. Kim also loved all kinds of music and was an avid guitarist. Her biggest joy in life however, was being with family and friends at that summer home in Annisquam – calling it the most beautiful place on earth.
Although born with Muscular Dystrophy, Kim persevered despite all the challenges she experienced - never letting her physical limitations get in the way of the life she was determined to live. She confronted, endured and overcame many hardships - never uttering the words 'why me'. After everything she had been through, she still considered herself lucky. Every person who ever met Kim Wilkie felt fortunate for having known her. She was absolutely the kindest and most inspirational woman any of us has ever known.
Kim will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Thomas P. Wilkie and his wife Anna of Topsfield; special nieces, McKenna Wilkie Coulbourn and her husband Charlie of Wenham, and Morgan Parker Wilkie of Topsfield; her pride and joy (her baby), her Cavapoo puppy, Tedy Bruschi; many aunts, uncles, cousins and her many friends at both Tufts Health and Brightview Senior Living.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Her family wishes to thank Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA for their help and support during this unimaginably difficult time.
