Joyce M. Ward Obituary

Joyce Mae (Conkling) Ward, 87, of Gloucester, MA, wife of the late Bernard J. Ward, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Joyce was born in Point Pleasant, NJ on May 1, 1935 and was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Johnson) Conkling.

Joyce graduated from St. Peter's School in 1950 and Point Pleasant Beach High School in 1954 and lived in Point Pleasant most of her life.

Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a woman of strong Catholic faith. Her love for animals led Joyce to become a breeder and caretaker of purebred long-haired cats.

Joyce is survived by her son Jeffrey and his wife Kristen of Gloucester, her grandson Joshua and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband, her son Joseph and her sisters June Nave and Nancy Byram.

A memorial service will be held at First Congregational Church of Hamilton, MA on June 3, 2023 at 10:00am. Private interment will be in New Jersey.
