Jeanne A. Robinson Obituary
Jeanne A. (Kennedy) Robinson, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. She is now in the arms of the Lord and with her loved ones in Heaven. She was the wife of the late Sargent Clarence "Dick" Robinson.
Jeanne was born in Gloucester, MA on August 1, 1934, to Dorothy A. (Hernstrom) Kennedy and Charles E. Kennedy. She was educated in Gloucester, MA, a graduate of Gloucester High School's Class of 1952.
As a young woman Jeanne worked at the local telephone company alongside her mother and some dear friends. In her early twenties Jeanne enrolled in college at Salem State, graduating with a bachelor's degree in business education. Jeanne taught business at Abington High School until the birth of her first daughter and in later years worked as a bookkeeper at Peter Smith Publishers in Magnolia. A true Gloucester girl, Jeanne loved the Annisquam River- "her river" as she called it and would sit faithfully on her porch deck of her home or her daughter's porch admiring the natural beauty and all the boaters going by. Jeanne had some very dear friends, and loved attending monthly lunches with the "Class of 52 Girls" up until a few years ago. She was most proud of and adored her granddaughters more than anything in life.
Jeanne is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Orlando and husband Paul, Kelly Frontiero and her husband Brandon; granddaughters, Lexi and Melanie Orlando and Kelsy Frontiero, all of Gloucester; sisters in-law, Marlene MacInnis and Susan Robinson and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanne was predeceased by her brother, Eugene (Micky) Kennedy; brothers in-law, George, Kenneth, Vincent, & Donald Robinson, and sisters in-law, Carmen and Shirley Robinson. She was also predeceased by her dearest lifelong friends, Carolyn Edwards and Carol Ann Maciel.
Jeanne's quick wit and dry sense of humor will surely be missed. She was always one to make people smile and loved to share stories from her younger years and teaching days.
Her. Funeral Service will be held in St. John's Episcopal Church, Gloucester, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Cape Ann Animal Aid Association, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA.
