Janice Anne Cook Obituary
Born in Gloucester, daughter of the late Loring and Eunice Cook. The youngest of six, Janice, lived in Magnolia until the passing of her father in 2005.
She attended Gloucester Public Schools. Special Needs Program and proudly graduated from North Shore Regional Vocational School.
Janice lived a full and happy life. She was a master of puzzles and always had one going and loved her country music and watching old school classic horror films, going to the movies and the Music Theatre. In her younger years she always participated in regional. Special Olympics, her weekly bowling league, and the Special Needs dances at the Fraternity Club.
Janice had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh and make everyone around her take the time to laugh also.
Seeing Santa and Christmas was top priority for Janice-imagine Christmas morning being so magical and special your entire life.
Most of all Janice loved her family and friends and was such an incredibly special gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was predeceased by her brother, Bill Cook.
She is survived by sister, Linda Parco of Magnolia MA; brother, Woody Cook and his wife Brenda of Arlington MA, brother, Robert Cook and partner Suzanne McDermott of East Falmouth MA, brother, Jim Cook and his husband Richard Kuphal of Magnolia MA; sister-in-law, Kathleen Dainton and husband John of Gloucester MA; brother-in-law, Tony Parco of Gloucester MA; 14 nieces and nephews, David, Debbie, Hillary, Tim, Jamie, Brendan, Chip, Martha, Jonathan, Liz, Jenny, Nick, Jeff, and Abbey; 19 great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great, niece and 1 great- great nephew and several cousins.
Also, from her extended family her sister/mother/friend and former caregiver of many years, Diane Sperry of Gloucester; her housemates, Sara and Debbie and residence directors, Suzanne Gallo and Catie Harmon and the rest of the wonderful staff, who all loved her dearly.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester MA, will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Her Graveside services at Rosedale Cemetery, 4 Rosedale Ave, Manchester, MA will be held on Thursday December 28, 2023, at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
