Grace R. Lumbruno Obituary
On Wednesday, June 8, 2022, Grace 'Gaye' Pallazola-Lumbruno age, 89 of Gloucester passed away peacefully at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Home here in Gloucester. She remained born in Gloucester on September 4th, 1932. She remained the daughter of Captain Joseph Pallazola and Vincie (Filletto) Pallazola both of Gloucester proper. She also remained the wife of the late George P. Lumbruno also late, of Gloucester.
Gaye grew up locally in Gloucester and worked in both the seafood and food industries. She worked for several local school cafeterias as well including the Beeman School and the Manchester-by-the-Sea School System cafeterias as well. In addition, she worked retail downtown at Ro-Ann's Maternity Shop.
In her youth, Gaye attended the former St. Ann's School and went on to attend Gloucester High School.
Gaye remained a very religious person throughout her life with strong family values. She very much enjoyed centering her home for the Holiday Season and remained well known for her superb Holiday cooking, and Sunday dinners, rivaling the skills of the best talented chefs! She instilled a family ethic of being together for the Holidays and throughout the year for both her family and friends alike.
Her other hobbies included going to Foxwoods on Bingo trips and to Saint Ann's for her weekly Bingo games as well. She remained a member of The Madonna Del Rosaria Society and the former Mother of Grace Club. Throughout her life, Grace remained as very devoted Catholic.
Gaye remains survived by one daughter, Nancy Ann Johnson wife of Bryan C. Johnson of Gloucester. She leaves behind three grandchildren, Frank Sclafini, Bryan Peter, and Brandon Richard all, of Gloucester. She also leaves behind her sister, Josephine Pallazola and her late husband Sebastian 'Busty' Pallazola; her brothers-in-law, Billy and Susan Lumbruno of Gloucester and Consti of Cape May, New Jersey along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gaye also leaves behind her former brother, Jerome, and his late wife Margie Pallazola; brother, the late Cosmo, and his late wife Margaret 'Peggy' Pallazola formerly of Manchester-by-the-Sea; a sister, the late Rose and her husband James Sinagra also of Gloucester; her in-laws, William and Nancy Lumbruno, and a sister-in-law, Josephine Lumbruno of Gloucester as well.
In closure, the family would like to thank the staff of Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Nursing Home on Atlantic Shore and Care Dimensions for their understanding and support for Gaye over the years that she resided there.
Accordingly, her Funeral Service shall be held at the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours at the funeral home starting at 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Her burial shall occur immediately following her service at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
