Gail L. Pratt Obituary
Gail L. (Martin) Pratt, 80, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023, with her devoted husband of 61 years, Michael H. Pratt, by her side. She was born in Gloucester, MA on July 18, 1942, to Charles and Barbara (Marshall) Martin.
Gail spent her early years living in Pine Point, ME with her mother and grandparents while her father was serving as a naval captain in the South Pacific during WWII. Returning home after the war, she attended Eastern Avenue, Central Grammar, and then Gloucester High School, where she met her future husband. They married in September after her graduation and over the next sixty-one years built a family and a life together of which she was fiercely proud.
While raising her six children, Gail helped her husband and sister-in-law Cynthia manage the family business, Karem's Army & Navy which was a staple of Main St. for decades. The loss of her two sons, grandchildren, siblings and parents only brought Gail and Mike closer together. Gail drew strength from her faith and found comfort in attending daily mass. Gail also loved spending summers at her home in Maine.
