Francesco Paolo Napoli Obituary
Francesco "Paolo" Napoli, 84 of Gloucester MA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 10th, 2023.
Born in Terrasini, Sicily, Italy; Paolo was one of ten children. He is predeceased by his beloved parents Paolo and Grazia Napoli and his siblings Mimmo Napoli, Guiseppina Napoli, Giovanna Napoli & Andrea Napoli.
Paolo is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years Carolina Napoli and their three children; Daughter Grace and husband Joseph Haskins, Daughter Rosa and husband Mark Sylvain, and Son Dominic Napoli and his wife Jennifer. In addition to his children, he was the cherished Nonno to his grandchildren Jennifer & her husband Billy Porter Filippo Napoli, Carolina Napoli, Kayla Harris, Conor Harris, Jayme Harris, Gabriella Napoli, Ariana Napoli and His great grandsons Ryan Porter, Mason Zappa & Matthew Zappa as well as his brothers Vincenzo Napoli, Franco Napoli, Filippo Napoli and sisters Maria Napoli, Filippina Napoli and their families as well as many nieces and nephews.
Paolo grew up and married his wife in Sicily. To provide for his family he traveled the world and immigrated to the United States, settling down with his wife and children in Gloucester MA, where they raised their family. Paulo was a lifelong fisherman and proud owner/ captain of F/V Maria Helena and later the Constellation. Once retired he spent the rest of his life doing what he truly loved the most, spending time with his wife and making memories with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed camping, cooking, and working on projects around the house. He was his happiest when his home was full with the company of family and friends around the kitchen table and all were always welcomed to our traditional Sunday dinners.
Paolo will be most fondly remembered for his big infectious smile. He selflessly loved with all his heart. His unwavering strength inspired those around him, showing resilience in the face of challenges, but above all it was his genuine care and compassion that touched the lives of many. He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed.
Visiting hours will be held in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect Street, Gloucester on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 10-12p.m. followed by a Mass at 12p.m. Burial will be private. In honor of Paolo's memory, the family kindly requests to omit sending flowers, contributions may be made to the family and will be donated to the charities of their choosing.
