Filippo Mortillaro Obituary
Filippo Mortillaro, 71 of Gloucester, husband of M. Grace (Purpura) Mortillaro passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Addison Gilbert Hospital.
He was born in Terrasini, Sicily, Italy on August 28, 1952, son of the late Girolamo and Vincenza (Bologna) Mortillaro.
Filippo was a master carpenter working on many houses and on boats throughout his career. He was a member of the St. Peter's Club and the Carpenter's Union.
In his spare time, he enjoyed travelling, spending time with his grandchildren, seeing his friends and going to the casinos.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Filippo is survived by his wife of 46 years, Grace Mortillaro; daughter, Enza Zeuli and her husband Robert of Peabody; son, Girolamo Mortillaro, and his wife Jacquie of Gloucester; 3 grandchildren, Ivana Zeuli, Sofia Zeuli, and Cash Mortillaro; his sister, Antonina Pellerito and husband Francesco of Italy; brothers, Vincenzo Mortillaro and wife Cathy, Gino Mortillaro and wife Teresa all of Gloucester; mother-in-law, Maria Purpura; Sister-in-law, Antonina D'Amico and her husband Domenic of Gloucester, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
