Elizabeth A. Sampson Obituary
Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Amero) Sampson, 89, of Gloucester peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, December 4, 2022, with her family beside her.
Born in Gloucester on April 17, 1933, to John and Katherine Amirault, she grew up as one of six children in a loving, tight knit family. Betty was a graduate of St. Ann's School, class of 1951.
In 1958, she married the love of her life Ed Sampson, and they remained a happy and devoted couple until Ed's death in 2003.
Having no children of her own, Betty became a second mother to her nieces and nephews, forming close and lasting bonds.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Ed, and her siblings Donald Amero, Sally Doucette, Marcia Frontiero, Bonnie Amero, Bernice White, and her niece Jill Doucette.
She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and her dear friends Barbara, Linda, and Grace.
A special thank you to Patti, Liz, and Jill from Beacon Hospice for their kindness to Betty in her final months.

Betty's Funeral Mass will be on Friday, December 9, at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect Street, Gloucester. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester.
