Deborah A. Requejo Obituary

Deborah A. Requejo, 74, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Surrounded by her loving family, she faced her illness with remarkable strength and grace.

Born in Los Angeles, California, on November 23, 1949, Deb was a lifelong resident of Gloucester, where she attended Gloucester schools. In 1972, she married her long-time sweetheart, Raoul Requejo.

Deb was fiercely proud of her children and grandchildren, finding her greatest joy in the moments spent with them. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by family and friends, and she treasured each opportunity to create lasting memories with those she loved. Deb will be fondly remembered for her love of the beach, her insatiable sweet tooth, and her sparkly white Keds.

Deb leaves behind her loving husband of 53 years, Raoul; daughter, Lauren Brown and her husband Adam; son, Tyler Requejo and his wife Heather; and her beloved grandchildren Chase, Emma, Ella, and Isla.

She is also survived by siblings, Dennis DeCoste, Patricia "Pat" DeCoste, MaryLou Sullivan (Robert), Michelle Mastin (Wayne), Colleen DeCoste (Lyn), Janine Hubbard (John), Elizabeth Huber, and Susan Durgin. Additionally, she is survived by brother-in-law, John Requejo; sisters-in-law, Leslie Silva (Paul); and Leslie Lopes, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Mary Jane DeCoste; in-laws, Angelina and Leslie Lopes; brother, Robert DeCoste; sister, Kathleen DeCoste; brother-in-law, Guy Lopes; sister-in-law, Chryl Requejo; and nephew, Matthew Young.

The Requejo family would like to extend a special thank you to Deb's sisters Colleen, MaryLou, and Pat for their devoted care. Additionally, they would like to thank her caregiver, Jen Humphrey, who provided exceptional care and friendship to Deb over the last two years.

In keeping with Deb's wishes, funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Deb's family requests that you grab a box of your favorite candy and head to the beach.
