Dana W. Aptt Obituary
Dana W. Aptt, 78, of Gloucester passed away after a brief illness on Monday, April 17th, 2023, at Beverly Hospital. He was born in Beverly on August 13, 1944, son of the late Harry W. Aptt Sr. and Thelma (Mitchell) Aptt.
Dana was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1962. He was self-employed running Fuller Rug Service until his retirement in 2006.
Dana loved a good joke, and always had a smile on his face. There was always laughter and food when he was around, he had this need to feed anyone and everyone that entered his house. He was passionate about classic cars, and he had a great love for Gloucester, collecting many trinkets along the way, but his biggest love was his family. He especially loved being a Grampy to his two granddaughters and we cannot forget his grandpuppies that he spoiled rotten, Cooper, Buddy, and Kaycee. His sarcastic humor and cheeky laugh will be missed by all who knew him.
Dana is survived by his daughter, Bethany MacNicholl and her husband Jason of Gloucester; his son, Barry Aptt and his wife Colleen of Gloucester; 2 granddaughters, Kathleen and Riley Aptt both of Gloucester; his brother, Harry W. Aptt Jr.; many nieces, nephews including David Aptt and his wife Lisa, Brian Aptt and his wife Paulette and Jason Aptt and all of their children.
Dana was predeceased by wife, Lola (Nowe) Aptt who he shared 53 years of marriage with and his beloved sister-in-law, Marcia (Harvey) Aptt.
His funeral mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church on Wednesday, May 3rd at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Burial will follow in Beechbrook Cemetery, West Gloucester. There will be no visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Cape Ann Animal Aid Association, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930.
