Charmaine Quinby-Stickney Obituary

Charmaine Quinby-Stickney, 72, wife of Arthur Stickney, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

Born in Paris, France in 1949 to a Parisian mother and a U.S. Army Col., Charmaine lived the first years of her life in Paris where she received her education and was employed as an agent for the French office of tourism.

Charmaine moved to Washington DC in 1974 and eventually settled on the North Shore of Massachusetts. She spent the last years of her life traveling, enjoying her family, grandchildren, and friends. Her contagious laugh and resonant presence facilitated many close interpersonal connections – she was deeply loved by many and loved many in return.

An accomplished chef and gardener, she enjoyed entertaining family and friends at her home and sharing her spirit, vitality, and humor. She lived her life with wisdom, kinetic energy, profound empathy, and resolve. A light to many, Charmaine embodied effervescence and taught us all how to really enjoy life one moment at a time. She was a force of nature.

She is survived by her sons, Dr. Joshua Quinby his wife Wendy, and Nicolas Quinby; grandchildren, Dillon, Liv, Dexter, and Sage; sisters, Christine Muller Cohen, and Carol Muller Morin; her friends and loved ones.
