Cathy B. Siegal Obituary

Cathy B. Siegal, 71, passed away on February 27, 2023, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a brave battle with cancer.

Cathy was born in Winston-Salem, NC, in 1951. She was a proud alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh, receiving a Bachelor's in Education and becoming a lifelong Pitt football fan. She continued on to receive her Master's in Education from Gordon College.

Cathy moved to Gloucester in 1985, landing in the village of Magnolia, where she discovered one of her favorite places on earth, Magnolia Beach. Any day, year-round that it was "beach weather," you would find Cathy in her beach chair, cooler filled with the best snacks and frozen water bottles, chatting away with friends old and new.

Cathy loved supporting people and families, especially her own. She was a proud wife, mother, and nana, enthusiastically celebrating and sharing even the tiniest accomplishments of her family. She touched many lives through roles as a respite coordinator, reading specialist, and, most recently, as a case manager at Adult Foster Care.

She was an avid Scrabble player, passionate about sewing, gardening with her husband, baking a seemingly endless amount of chocolate chip banana bread, and talking on the phone, especially with her best friends and daughter. She loved traveling with her husband, family, and friends, with most memorable trips to Alaska, Spain, the Dominican Republic, and the midwest. Above all, Cathy loved to be joyful and share that joy with everyone.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Bob Allia of Magnolia, MA; her son, Zach Allia of who knows where; her daughter Bethany (Allia) Revett and husband, Charlie Revett of Orchard Park, NY; her two grandchildren Perri Magnolia Revett and Wesley Grey Revett; her grand-dog Indiana Revett, also of Orchard Park, NY; her brother-in-law Joe Allia and his children and grandchildren of Winchendon, MA; her sister-in-law Paula Allia and wife Annette Suridis of Naples, FL. Cathy is pre-deceased by her sister-in-law Shirley Allia.

Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, will be held on Sunday, March 5, from 1 to 4 pm. Her funeral service will be held at Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 11:00 am. The burial will follow in Dolliver Cemetery, Gloucester. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend both events. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society in Cathy's name at https://donate.cancer.org.
