Caterina Frontiero Obituary
Caterina (Barbato) Frontiero, 86, of Gloucester, wife of the late Jerome J. Frontiero, passed away at the Addison Gilbert Hospital on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
Caterina was born in Tredici, Caserta, Italy on July 23, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Vitaliano and Marianna Cerrete Barbato. In Italy she attended trade school and became a skilled seamstress. When she came to America, she proudly became a citizen and worked at Mighty Mac and Universal Coat for many years. She was also a member of the Mother of Grace Club. Caterina loved to cook her many traditional recipes and distribute her delicious sauce and soups to her family and host family members for impromptu homemade meals and holidays celebrations. She traveled to Italy and England many times to visit her siblings and their families. She loved spending time in Florida, especially with her husband and grandchildren, going for walks, and growing and picking fruit from her front yard.
She will be loved and missed by her surviving children and family, Anthony Frontiero and his wife Anne of Guam, Jerome C. Frontiero and his wife Verna of Myrtle Beach, SC, Marion F. Cahoon and her husband Ray of Amesbury, Peter D. Frontiero of Melbourne, FL, Joseph P. Frontiero of Ipswich and David A. Frontiero of Gloucester; grandchildren, Kyle J. Cahoon and his girlfriend Ivana Garside of Amesbury, Justin R. Cahoon of Weehawken, NJ, David Frontiero, Jr. and his wife Jackie, Catherine M. Frontiero and Olivia K. Frontiero all of Gloucester, Anthony Frontiero, Jr. and his wife Keo of Guam and also her six great-grandchildren.
Her visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish, Gloucester. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
