Arthur J. O'Hanley Jr. Obituary

Arthur J. O'Hanley Jr., 79, of Gloucester passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2022, at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Gloucester on February 11, 1943, son of the late Arthur J. O'Hanley and Mildred M. (Amero) Doucette.

He was a graduate of Gloucester High School and later attended Boston University, Salem State and UMass Boston with a bachelor's degree in English and History.

Arthur was a self-employed carpenter for years who in his spare time enjoyed boating, gardening, and cooking. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Arthur is survived by his son, Niles Y. O'Hanley; brothers, Peter Doucette, Jim Doucette, and his wife Lisa; sister, Jane Selig and her husband Dean and his good friend, Kristjan Petursson.

He was predeceased by his sister, Kate McCarthy.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services at this time.

In lieu flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Cape Ann Animal Aid Association, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA.
