Anthony Loiacano Obituary
Capt. Anthony "Chubby" Loiacano, 87 husband of the late Cynthia A. Loiacano, passed away peacefully with his children by his side on Thursday evening, September 1, 2022. He was born in Gloucester on April 9, 1935, son of the late Jerome Loiacano and Anna Maria Loiacano (Pallazolla).
Anthony spent his life fishing and was a very respected fishing Captain. It truly was his passion. He told many stories about the ports he had been to and the close calls he had out at sea. Everyone would be on the edge of their seats listening, so intrigued, with his life stories from the sea. The Sailor's Choice was his most recent fishing vessel that he docked at their home on Rocky Neck. After retirement Chubby and Cynthia enjoyed entertaining their family and friends at their home. He was a fantastic cook and enjoyed feeding loved ones and his mischievous sense of humor will be missed by many.
Anthony is survived by his 4 children, Maria Davis, Ralph Loiacano and his wife Sandra, Michael Loiacano, and Laura Byard and her significant other Shawn "Lucky" Pavon, all of Gloucester; grandchildren Jessica Perrine, Abigail and Anthony Loiacano; great-grandchildren Jordon Perrine and Jasper Rodriguez; sisters-in-law Mary Jo Montagnino, Karen Budrow, Stephanie Densmore, Shelly Pratt; brothers-in-law Michael Pratt and his wife Gail, Joseph Pratt and his wife Carol, and James Pratt and his wife Deborah and many nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
In addition to his wife of 58 years and love of his life Cynthia A. Loiacano, he was predeceased by his parents, and mother and father-in-law Ralph and Josephine Pratt as well as his son-in-law Jack Davis, and Michael's significant other Janet Golden. All of Anthony's siblings and their spouses, Salvatore Loiacano and his wife Angie, Jerome Loiacano, Joseph Loiacano and his wife Vicky, Antoinette Pallazola and her husband Gasper, Rosie Pallazola, and her husband Joseph "Jawsy", Angie Parisi and her husband Anthony "Jike", and Josephine "Suda" Curcuru and her husband Joseph "Cheeks". He was also predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Christine Murphy and her husband Steven Murphy, James Densmore, James Montagnino.
In accordance with his wishes, services for Anthony will be private. Arrangements are by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester.
