Anthony Ciulla Obituary
Anthony "Tony" Ciulla, 87, of Gloucester, passed away on April 2, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Marianna (Amico) Ciulla, and they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Tony was born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 14, 1937, to Lawrence and Rose Ciulla. Tony was a graduate of Gloucester High School and was a licensed barber for 55 years. Ciulla's Barbershop was an icon on Main Street – doors always open by 6 a.m. with a following of dedicated local clients waiting.
Tony loved gardening, landscaping and all types of animals. He cherished taking his grandchildren and nieces and nephews to county fairs, amusement parks and carnivals. His generosity and thoughtfulness for his family and friends was unmeasurable. He never showed up without food and pastries for all!In addition to his wife, Tony is survived by his daughter, Rose and her husband Jim of Pennsylvania; his two granddaughters, Caroline and Ashley as well as multiple generations of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Rose Ciulla; his sisters Josephine Sanfilippo, Catherine "Kay" Rodolosi and Lillian Linquata, as well as his brother Augustus "Gus" Ciulla.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated In Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect Street, Gloucester, on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
