With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marie E. Wharton (Gardner, Massachusetts), born in Arlington, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 9, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Marie may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilho Wiinikainen and Eleanor Wiinikainen. She is survived by: her son Rick Wharton (Leora Jo); her siblings, Salli (Arnold) and David Wiinikainen (Paula Sciabarrasi); her niece Staci Muzzioli (Keith); her nephew Gabriel; and her great-nephews, Nick and Alex.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Mack Funeral Home (105 Central St, Gardner, MA 01440). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
