He was predeceased by: his parents, Martial Ares and Aldea Ares (Racette); his siblings, Arthur, Marcel, Roger, Raymond, Ernest, Georgette, Martha, Lorraine, Rachel and Simone; and also Yvette Ares.

He is survived by: his son Frederic M. Ares (Shannon) of Dudley; his grandchildren, Celia and Connor Ares; and his girlfriend Priscilla Proulx of Gardner. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
