With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William John Purnell Jr. of Franklin, Massachusetts, born in East Boston, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 30, 2023 at the age of 88. He was predeceased by: his wife Judith Purnell (Bennett); his parents, William J. Purnell and Mildred Purnell (Hanson); and his brother Frank Purnell. He is survived by: his son William J. Purnell III (Donna); his siblings, John Purnell of Avon, Larry Purnell of Stoughton, Mildred "Sissy Dunn of Hingham and Mary Kane of Roslindale; his grandchildren, Nicole Daniels (Chris) of Northborough, Kristin Purnell of Brookline and Michael Purnell of Medway; and his great grandchildren, Cameron and Cassie Daniels.

Donations may be made in his memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline, Ave, Boston, MA. 02215.
