He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Chartrand and Anna Chartrand (Martineau); his child Gerard Chartrand; his significant other Rita Levasseur; his sibling Donald Chartrand; and also Florence C. Chartrand (Sawyer).

He is survived by: his children, Paul Chartrand of Lowell and Anita Milham (John "Brad" Davidson) of Franklin; his grandson Edwin Milham of Franklin; and his siblings, Roger Chartrand (Bernadette) of Lowell, Constance Tessier (Donald) of Lowell, Andrew Chartrand, Doris Maille, Irene Marchildon and Annette Chartrand. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
