He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul W. Melanson and Anna Washburn Melanson (Robertson); his brother Lyman Washburn; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley, Roger and Phil Harnden.
He is survived by: his wife Cora Louise Washburn (Carnes); his children, Cynthia (Steven Nester) of Mill River, MA, Stephen (Shalisha Washburn) of Randolph, MA and Leanne (Jim Makris) of Franklin, MA.; his brother Philip Washburn; and his siblings-in-law, Nicholas Delrossi, Thyra Carnes and Edythe. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
