He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. Gagen and Phyllis Gagen (Grant); and his brother David. He is survived by: his children, Chris (Rebecca) of Framingham, Sean (Karen) of Framingham, Shannon and Ryan of West Brookfield; his grandchildren, Eva, Theo, Austin, Olivia, James, Laurel (Walsh) and Candy Coolidge; and his siblings, Michael (Gwen) and Thomas (Kathy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
