He was predeceased by: his sister Patricia Robinson; and his parents, Charles Ryan and Helen Ryan (O'Day). He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Natalie Marsh of Groton, Dean Marsh, Michelle Ryan of Texas and Jim Ryan (Sandi) of Marlboro; his grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Brandon, Michael and Hannah; and his siblings, Virginia Barnes, Thomas, Stephen, William Ryan, Jean Doughty, Charles, Richard, John and Kenneth Ryan. He is also survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
