She was predeceased by: her father George Owens; her foster mother Jane Carpenter; and her sister Bonnie Lynn Carpenter. She is survived by: her mother Diana Owens; her siblings, David Carpenter (Nancy), Jeffrey Carpenter (Winona Beth), Gregory Carpenter (Elizabeth), Susan Wynn (Charles), Kevin Owens, Kristin Fay (James) and Michelle Robbins (Joseph); and her nieces and nephews, Jeb, Jasmine, Joseph, Zachary Carpenter, Jordan, Hannah, Sierra Wynn, Lauren, Patrick, Alex Fay, Allison and Erin Robbins.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donation to SMILE Mass, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping families raising children or adults with disabilities.
