He was predeceased by: his parents, Augusto Cordeiro and Silvina Cordeiro; and his wife Celeste A. Cordeiro (Fonseca). He is survived by: his children, Luis Cordeiro of Framingham and Maria C. Bailote (Francisco) of Framingham; his granddaughters, Tessa Piantedosi (Robert), Felicia Freeland (Tyler) and Raquel Bailote; his great grandchildren, Isabela, Mila Piantedosi, Julian and Beckett Freeland; and his siblings, Proficação, Antonio, Alice of Portugal and Abilio of Canada.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to either the: The Alzheimer's Association.
