He is survived by: his son Calvin; his parents, Howard B. Herzig and Eva L. Herzig (Giard); his siblings, Roberta, Gloria, Leah, Howard, Rudy (Ruth) and Carl (Diane Herzig); his children, Wallace B. (Patricia Herzig) of Leyden and Sheina (James Fontaine) of Minnesota; his wife Lorraine I. Herzig (Vacchelli Battey) of Florence; his brother-in-law Angelo Vacchelli of Northampton; and his grandfather Wally. He is also survived by extended family that thrived on their love, perseverance and faith, including: Lois and Arthur Cross of Williamsburg, David and Janice Battey of Florida, Jeremiah and Lillian Battey of New Jersey, Mark Battey of Whately, Naomi and Gregory Badach of Easthampton, and Sylvia Kearney of Texas, and 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, she requests donations be made to a local charity in honor of Wally's generous spirit.
