He was predeceased by: his parents, Sigmond Wernik and Josephine Wernik (Sudnick). He is survived by: his wife Susan Wernik (O'Neil); his children, Vanessa Raihill (Michael Gondek), Andrew Wernik and Sarah McCarty (Brandon McCarty); his grandchildren, Molly, Elijah, Hannah and Jackson; his siblings, Elaine (Carl Majeskey) of Georgetown, MA and Sigmond Wernik of Easthampton; and his parents-in-law, Stephen, Jean O'Neil of Plymouth, MA, John, Caron O'Neil of Jacksonville, FL, Brian, Theresa O'Neil of Beverly Shores, IN, Maureen, Phillip Sturgill of Alexandria, VA, Thomas and Diana O'Neil of Leesburg, VA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
