She... " - Morgan Willoughb View Sign FEEDING HILLS – Cheryl K. Casanova, 63, of Feeding Hills, beloved wife of John Casanova, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018. Born in Northampton, Cheryl graduated from Easthampton High School. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from Westfield State College in 1977 and a Master's Degree in Organizational Development from American International College in 1992. She began her teaching career in Easthampton where she taught for 5 years before becoming a Special Education Resource Room Teacher at Longmeadow High School for 30 years. In that time she was universally loved and respected by innumerable staff and students. Cheryl was predeceased by her beloved parents, Tony and Ethel Koncas of Easthampton. She leaves behind two sons, A.J. of Feeding Hills and Evan of New Tripoli, Pennsylvania, as well as her cherished brother Joseph Koncas and his wife Valerie of South Hadley and her 'favorite sister' Melissa (Koncas) Perry and her husband Eric of Westport. Cheryl will also be deeply missed by her nieces, Briana Bernabucci, Victoria Casanova, Mandy Fraser and Rosalyn Casanova and her nephews Alex Casanova and Burton Casanova as well as her dearest great- niece and great-nephew Sophia and Vincent Bernabucci Cheryl also reluctantly leaves behind the greatest joy of her life, her granddaughter Raelynn??????? Jayne Casanova of New Tripoli, Pennsylvania. Grammy will always be with you, Rae. To memorialize Cheryl, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation to the Richard Salter Storrs Library, 693 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow, MA 01106. A children's book collection will be established to honor Cheryl's abundant love of reading, education and children, especially her granddaughter Raelynn. If you would like to make a donation, please include a note stating that you wish your gift to go to Cheryl's Memorial. In each book purchased, to honor Cheryl's love and life, the library will place a bookplate inside the cover including wording "From The Cheryl Casanova and Raelynn Jayne Casanova Collection" Cheryl's family will receive friends on Saturday, August 18, from 12-2 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main St, Agawam.
