He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris Barnett and Evelyn Barnett; and his brother Richard Barnett. He is survived by: his wife Katherine; his daughter Melissa Barnett; his stepchildren, Tammy Barros and Michael Sestakauskas; his granddaughter Iris Hoblitt; his stepgrandson Michael William Sestakauskas; and his sisters, Fran Knell, Beverly Rechkoff and Nina Glick Schiller. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and a grandnephew.
