Joseph Gomes Sr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Gomes Sr. (Falmouth, Massachusetts), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 27, 2024 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Gomes and Alice Gomes; and his son Joseph Gomes Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Ann Gomes; his stepchildren, Taikarsh Mattos and Latoya Pells; his child Rasheda Dickerson-Mattos of Mashpee; and his sisters, Ruth Ann Vieira of Falmouth, Nadine McCall of Falmouth, Patricia Hillard of New Bedford and Ramona Washington of Maine. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 6th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Chapman Funerals and Cremations - Falmouth (475 Main St, Falmouth, MA 02540).
He settled down and married in 1981, after losing his only biological son to Down syndrome and a heart condition in 1984, he continued to make regular charitable donations to St. Jude and Shriners Childrens Hospital.
