He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Machado and Maria Machado (Resendes); and his brother Frank Machado. He is survived by: his children, Eric Machado (Leah) of Mashpee, MA, Rebecca Pakowski (Micah) of Sanford, ME and Jessica Machado (Kyle Bishop) of Farmington, ME.; his grandchildren, Hanna, Max, Lucian, Emma and Gabriel; his brothers, Gil Machado (Luiza), Fernando Machado (Margarida) and Joseph Machado (late Teresa); and his sister-in-law Mary Jane Machado (late Frank Machado). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made in John's name to the Disabled American Veterans (dav.org), a foundation to which he was a member.
