He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Bennett and Elma Stone Bennett; his sister Shirley Bennett Hughes; and his stepbrothers, Pat, Grover, Doug and Bill Bennett of Georgia.
He is survived by: his wife Maureen Bennett (Dwyer); his sons, Jim (Jackie) of Groton, Richard (Tina) of New Bedford, John of Dover, Michael (Elizabeth) of Millis and Mark (Michele) of Wilton, CT; his grandchildren, Sam, Lane, Henry, Griffin, Mae, Charlie, Allison, Luke, Brayden, Sarah and Matthew (Lindsey); his sister Ernestine Zeigler (Lawrence) of Lake Park, GA; and his brothers-in-law, Rev. James Dwyer, Daniel Dwyer of Falmouth and Michael Dwyer of Melrose. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
