He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Chief Michael G. Alves (Lisa), Acushnet Police Dept, Mark L. Alves (Lauren), Karen P. Alves, Cronin Kirshon (Michael) of Marion and Ann-Marie Kirshon (Larry) of Norton; his grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Matthew, Julia, Amelia, Jake and Sofia; his brother Paul R.; his siblings-in-law, Jeanne Alves of Falmouth and Bernard Silva of New Bedford; his siblings, Victor, Gerard, Richard Alves, Cecile Couture and Therese Silva; and also Fairhaven.
Gilbert N. Alves, 80, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, May 21, 2018, at the Sippican Healthcare Center after 13 years of living with Alzheimer's disease.
