He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Holmes and Agnes Holmes (Godsoe); and his brother Joseph Sylvestor. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Holmes (Rezendes); and his brother Ronald Sylvestor. He is also survived by his wife and several nieces and nephews.
