He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Alves and Eva Alves (Duhamel); and his siblings, Lorraine Shoemaker, Rita Pacheco and William Alves.
He is survived by: his wife Natalie Alves (Nery); his son Paul N. Alves of Fall River; his grandson Christopher Alves (Kate); and his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Kolette. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
