He was predeceased by: his sister Maria of Conceição Vieira; and his parents, Mariano Couto and Alcinda Couto (Vieira). He is survived by: his sons, Jose M. Couto and Carlos Michael Couto (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Aaron Michael Couto and Jocelyne Couto; and his siblings, Albano Couto and Olga Pacheco. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
