He was predeceased by: his spouses, Maria and Conceicao Furtado (Caetano); his parents, Manuel Furtado and Maria Amaral; his son Luis R. Furtado; his siblings, Manuel Furtado, Guilhermina Cordeiro, Marcolina Cardoso and Angelina Pereira Furtado; and his grandchild Maddox Furtado.
He is survived by: his children, Maria (Luz Furtado), Alcira Doiron of Fall River, Cecilia Furtado of Memphis, TN and Isaac R. Furtado of Fall River; his sister Cecilia Chaves of Fall River; and his son Manuel Furtado. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
